When I started my first blog, I was literally working with a budget of zero, and had to work extra hard to find free images for my blog, that were both high-quality and royalty-free. Finding the perfect images to complement your blog posts can be a daunting task, especially if you’re a new blogger.
Of course, there’s a plethora of image resources available on the web, but which images can be used on your website without the worry of consent or attribution to the owner?
No worries, my friends! All of my extra hard work has paid off, because I have found the best resources for free stock photos available online. To this day, even though I have a budget for blog images, I still find great free images that work better than the paid options I’m able to find. Plus I save a few bucks, which is always a plus.
I’ve made it super-easy for you to find free images for your blog too, by compiling this list of websites that offer royalty-free images.
You can’t sell or redistribute these photos, or claim them as your own, but you can use them anywhere on your blog or website, edit them in any way you’d like, with no attribution required (although it is appreciated)! Best of all, they’re all totally free!
1. Pixabay
My first choice for free images is Pixabay. They’re huge image library offers over 1.2 million images and videos to choose from!
With that many choices, you should be able to find the perfect image for your project. However, that can also be overwhelming, making it hard to choose. That’s why I’m including the other resources on this list!
2. PicJumbo
PicJumbo was created by photographer and designer Vikter Hanacek. You’ll find unique stock photos and collections that require no attribution. There is a premium subscription available if interested, but plenty of free photos to choose from.

I tried to pin this post but Pinterest says your site doesn’t allow pinning. Do you know what’s up with that? 🙁
I have never had a problem, or seen that message before. Maybe you could try again?
I love Unsplash and BlendImages when I don’t have my own photography. But I prefer to use my own images when I can because I love photography almost as much as blogging.
I wish I was creative enough to use my own pictures. I take photos, but haven’t tried to used any of them, yet. Thanks for the tip on BlendImages Stacey.
I love that there are websites that we can get free images from. It’s not always convenient to take our own pictures and it would be nice to have a good source. Thanks for the list!
No problem, Elizabeth! Glad you found my post 🙂
Thanks for these resources. Now I am able to just visit the websites for free free images available.
Thanks for sharing this…pictures for the blog is something I have always wanted to sort through and ensure are appropriate for the blog,
I have used several of these different places already. The pics are great. I like putting my own pictures out there as well, as imperfect as they may be.
I haven’t put any of my pictures out there but that’s a good idea. I take a lot of “urban decay” type photos. Not sure how helpful they would be for anyone, but interesting to look at 🙂
OMG. I’m so happy I found your post! I’m a new blogger so this would really help in my future posts. Thank you so much for sharing!
I’m really glad you found my post, too, Kim! You are exactly who I wanted to reach..a new blogger that wasn’t sure where to turn for images.
